FINANCE COMMITTEE: Committee meets bi-monthly on the 3rd Thursday of the month. The committee is responsible for budgets, accounts, investment and banking, management of various sectors, fundraising and property matters, IT management and any financial dealings within the parish. In addition it works closely with the Archdiocese’s Financial Administrators.

LEGION OF MARY members follow the example of Mary the Mother of Jesus, by serving others; especially the sick, the elderly, the bereaved, the lonely and those in any spiritual need. Our weekly meeting is held after the 9.30am Mass on Thursday at Our Lady of the Way, Glenalta,

A fun, interactive music session for young children and their parents’/care givers. This community program initiative is aimed at Parents, Grandparents and Caregivers with 0-5 year olds in their care on a Wednesday Morning. You will enjoy a beautiful 30 minute, interactive music program followed by a lovely morning tea with good company to boot!

MAINTENANCE: General maintenance and repairs of a minor nature as well as gardening are cared for by this small group of volunteers. Besides caring for the general maintenance the group oversees the organisation of contractors required from time to time. PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL: At our April and May meetings the PPC was asked by the Diocesan Renewal Team to discuss and consider the “eight characteristics of parishes in the process of renewal”.

ST VINCENT DE PAUL: The Blackwood conference is primarily concerned with providing emergency assistance to people in need within the district. Members visit those who request assistance and provide vouchers for food and other goods obtainable from Vinnies’ stores. To aid in undertaking this work the members also engage in fundraising, particularly through the Winter and Christmas appeals. The monthly collection of recyclable beverage containers is a significant local fundraising initiative, along with an annual trading table and sales of sauce and jams. Members also assist the Christie’s Beach Fred’s Van in providing meals.

- Recycable beverage containers: Collection once a month - Ring Parish Office to book a collection

The World Development Committee looks at who is our neighbour. While the majority of our involvement is Lolotoe in East Timor we also look at the wider area of Asia as well. For East Timor, the building of a Kindergarten at Mape new community centre at Lebos have been our main projects. School furniture as well as been collected and forwarded for student use.
